ARTIST PROFILE: AMOS LEE
Here’s a little story for you. I discovered Amos Lee when he performed at my college in the spring of 2007. He put on a great show, so I decided I would start listening to more of his music. A few days later, I boarded a train to NYC to begin a summer internship. The DC-to-NYC-via-Philly train is notorious for being overbooked, so I was forced to sit in the “cafe/business” car until I spotted an open seat. The moment I saw a man get up at the next stop, I jumped up and settled into my new seat.
A few minutes later, a man tapped me on the shoulder to retrieve his water bottle and magazine from my new seat. Apparently he had just gotten up for a bathroom break. My bad. I looked up to see Amos Lee. I stole Amos Lee’s seat. I was horrified. All I could think to say was, “Oh, sorry…by the way, you played an awesome show at my school last week!” He thanked me, smiled sweetly and walked away.
All of this was to say, I have a huge crush on Amos Lee, so I wanted to share with you his new music video for “Flower.” It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before — made almost entirely with white paper. Enjoy.
