Anyone who knows me is very aware of my love for all things turquoise. So, it should come as no surprise that I’m currently obsessing over these turquoise boots. Of course, I couldn’t stop once I spotted those. Two hours and 17 new google tabs later, I present to you: a turquoise-boots-that-I-must-own-before-my-wedding-day photo montage.
Sadly, the title of this post does not refer to a puppy.
We finally got patio furniture! Now that the temps outside are bearable, we can actually use our patio and enjoy the amazing view. Amazon.com had great end-of-summer deals, so we were able to get this modern lounge and cute bistro set for nearly half of what similar pieces sell for on other sites. Can’t wait to relax outside in the evenings, using my new Kindle!
How fitting that I would be shopping for patriotic art on Labor Day. I think this calls for a post. I have been struggling to find a piece to hang above our sectional sofa that is both large and affordable. The wall is HUGE, so most standard-sized art would just get lost in the space. Since we both prefer original artwork, I’ve been scouring Etsy, eBay, and a few other sites for one-of-a-kinds that meet most of our wishes:
• at least 48″ wide
• interesting media
• easy to hang on concrete (ugh)
• American-themed (or as Alex would say, UH-MER-CAN)
• under $400

The winner (as of now) is a 5-panel steel “sculpture” that is hand painted. A little abstract, almost surreal, and full of movement. It’s a little more in-your-face than I would typically go for, but what better thing to stand out in room than a beautiful American flag?
